However, if you have more commons antiques and collectibles and are curious to their worth, then we can help! AntiquesNavigator does not guarantee the accuracy of the free appraisal, so it might be a good idea to wait until you get at least a couple of responses from our readers before deciding the value of your antique or collectible.

Florence Stove Company Portable Space Heater

Submitted by: Mike & Tracy
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

We have come across a Florence Stove Company Floor space heater, smaller in size and box shaped. It is white porcelain/enamel, with vents on the top in two columns. Believe it is portable as there is a handle on each side. The door in the front opens left to right and says Florence above it in Cursive. There is a knob below the door with open on one side and close on the other. On the back is a curved brace to hold the cylinder which we also have that held the kerosene. The cylinder says authorized in New York City only. We have searched for hours online and can not find this model (model # CB1A 1) We have also shown it to the local Antique store owner and contacted several local appraisers which none have been familiar with this item.

Incense Holder

Submitted by: Donna
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

I purchased this item in a thrift store and would like more information on identification and value. The item is 10 inches long by approximately 1 1/2" in diameter. One end is removable and is attached by a chain to an eyelet on the base. There do not appear to be any hallmarks. The blue material appears to be glass. Suggestions as to its function/use have been an incense holder or a decorative scroll holder used in Jewish homes. I have no idea of age.

PLEASE HELP

I have a 1979 Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer belt buckle. It states that it is 1979 vintage, limited edition with a serial number 107. It was made by the Great American Buckle Company. Great American responded to an email by telling me all they could disclose was that it was from 1979 and was made to order by Pabst or someone who aquired a liscense from Pabst. Pabst replied that they had no corporate historian and had no information. I have found others similiar, but nothing identical to it. I have pictures but see no place to attach them

I have several different pieces of antique furniture that I am trying to get an approximate value before selling. These are two antique chairs that I inherited from my grand mother, who inherited from her mother, they must be at least 100 yrs old I believe. They are in good shape, but need to be re-upholstered? The red chair, has small metal wheels (brass?) on the front legs but nothing on the back legs. The blue chair has 4 small metal wheels one on each leg.

Phonograph Jigga

Submitted by: Tina
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

It took me quite a while to even find the correct name of my item. It is called a Phonograph Jigga, made it 1915, the base is meant to attach to the spindle of a phonograph so the the Jigga can move. There are two attachments to this toy, one is a tap dancer, made of wood and all his joints are made to move loosely. When the spindle turns, he tap dances. They both are Black American figures. The second attachment are two boxers, when moving seem to be boxing each other. I have had this toy for at least 40 years, a gift from my uncle. There are no stratches or breackage on any of it.

Vintage collection of Panama Canal Zone memorailia

PLEASE HELP

I have a collection of teacups and saucers from all over the world , which they are numbered, my father in law left of a trunk full of heirlooms and amongst them was over 150 pcs. His great grandfather was Captain Irving G Hay , who piloted the USS ALABAMA thru the Panama Canal. So we are in possession of all his memorabilia from Peru, the Panama Canal and Navy , I have pictures of Queen Elizabeth II with the Duke Of Edinburgh on the ship touring the canal zone. Someone advised me to show this collection to an antique dealer to see what I have is of value. I would appreciate any help you can give me or advice on who may be the person to contact for a collection such as this. I did contact the WWII D Day Museum, they did tell me that they did not have the resources to purchase such an extensive collection but if I found a collector to purchase it , they would love to have it on loan. Thank You for your time, Michelle C. Wilcox 504-228-2291 New Orleans, la If you would like to view the pieces I have them on my Facebook page. Pointed Ovasl Brass Container [New York 1859?]

Submitted by: Jahred
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

This is a Caste Brass Pointed Oval Container of some kind. It is plain accept the lid steps up in three single beveled tiers (the hump of the bevel running length wise between points). The lid over bite an inside lip by 1/4 of an inch. all of the edges are smooth to the touch. it has a flat bottom with no feet. The brass is the same age in appearance (about... a shade or two lighter) as my 1838 Ford No.625 tire pump's brass cylinder does. So it looks aged about right for the date (which I talk about a little further down). Especially with a few nicks scratches and dings (very light and expected from use over the years...you don't notice them as negatives unless your really looking for them). It has a single central hinge in the back. (two of the rings on the lid and one on the body...a 3 ring hinge all as part of the casting and not welded or brazed on). It is marked on the bottom with N. Y. (spaced apart following a bit of an invisible arch in their layout) As well as 1859 Directly under that... And nothing else. I looked at it under a lighted loop. The markings are not made by a modern engraver as there are none of those tell tale-dots and it is too perfect with no bur lines to be push engraving. I cut a 6th guitar string with a razor to mark the depth and width of the markings all the characters are the same depth and relative widths in their lines. They have the same color within the depression and surrounding it as well (so I believe they were set with a similar tool one right after the other as apposed to on put on years later). The pin in the hinge is probably replaced. It is iron, and makeshift compared to the rest of it. and it is thin enough that there is a good amount of play in any direction in the hinge (it looks like a piece of fencing wire). At first the inside seemed to have residual glue from a once installed liner. But, upon closer inspection it it nodes from casting surrounded by oxidization of the zinc in the alloy. The date still bothers me, as to me the box looks like simplistic Art Deco. I don't know what someone would put in such a container. it has no lock or latch for a lock. You wouldn't put anything non preservable in brass or jewelry i would think. Not bare brass any way? it doesn't have a shape that is accommodating that i can think of accept maybe bullets standing on end (It actually looks like a perfect bin for .22 center fires. But, again wouldn't it have a latch an owner could put a lock on if that were the case?). It is 5 inches long, by 3 /12 inches wide and deep at it's largest outside measurements. The body is a 1/16 of an inch thick. and it weighs 10.3 ounces.
