PLEASE HELP

I have a card box passed down from my ?)Grandfather.....at least we believe it to be a card box. It is stamped on the bottom "MEN (?)PAIRPOINT MFG CO" and "BEDFORT (D?) MASS" and the number 2761. It is heavily embossed on all four sides with curly stuff and what looks like Sun Flowers. The top is scroll on both lids (a space in between the lids for 1 or do decks of cards standing upright) with another kind of flower and Bulldog (?) lid handles. I have never seen it polished and I am 70 yrs old. I know it was in their house before I was born. On one handle, one of the legs is cracked. but it all still works. OH and it has small feet that look like 5 little beads on the corners of the box. It has been well used and loved. Hoping you can help me out and tell me what it really is and maybe even what the value is today. Thank you.
