ParticipantHi Charlton,
I have a number of Tootsietoys myself, some from when I was a youngster and others that I have bought along thew way. I know some are special, like I have a Semi-truck and flat bed trailer, two pieces with a small dirt track sprint car tootsie on the trailer. One Indy car I paid 6 bucks for was the most expensive of this version of the Tootsitoy car’s. I believe there are three sizes, with the smallest being the more recent. Anyway to your car’s, they are great in excellent condition, and find them on the top of that cabinet at your Mom’s! That’s crazy cool, and they were yours as a kid. Sorry to here about the divorce, how did your dad get lucky enough to get the kids? Just my thoughts you don’t have to answer that. My son lived with his mother she got custody, I barely got to see him, and generally as he grew older it became more of a pain to him having to come here on the weekends as they promoted as much 4H activity as they could, including multiple state events to where he gradually stopped coming totally and now I see him maybe a couple times a year, he lives 6 miles from me and is now 25. The good news is his room is still filled with numerous barely used items, whatever? Anyway I have seen a multitude of these cars in person and researching on-line and none of them have had half the paint on them that yours have. They are the best condition of any that I have ever seen, and they are a complete original set, with original garage. I never knew that such a set existed, just figured they came in singles like Hot Wheels. I suppose they must have been sold separately also. You wrote an excellent detailed description, very good! I would clean everything, not so much polish, but clean. Then frame the case and all, maybe that is what you meant? If you can, hold onto them for as long as you can, and I would value your set well over two hundred and in ten years I could see them increase to 5-700 dollars, no problem. Some dudes have money to pay for good shit and you have some good shit! Super, you should have some other stuff in good condition also, I can tell you have respect.good for you,

ParticipantHi Nessa,
I love clocks and have many, your’s is really nice, acquire as many as you can. I believe they are a good investment over time. Your clock if it is a true antique could be valued at one hundred dollars. If it is a Waterbury maybe more? Your photo is kinda blurred if I could give you some advise, try to get a sharper image shot, open it’s door and take a shot of the manufacturer label if it is in there, or at least list it in your description. Also include information about the operation, works or not, and if the key or keys are still with the clock? I am not being a critic just want to help you present your clock in a clear format with some information that will help the possible expert with the appraisal. I have been in numerous similar situations and if you want the correct and hopefully a fast response to your concerns have this information and photos updated as soon as you can.
I have had a cigar box listed here for a couple weeks and have not gotten one replay. I am really not sure there is ever anybody here. I have left a few responses to others and now you, so if you get this at least you will know there is somebody else alive out here. Boost your spirits a little maybe, depressing not getting any hits. Using words like spirits and hits boost my morale, I hope that works for you too.
cheer’s,

ParticipantHi Jan Marie,
Hard to believe you have not received any responses? I am just entering this system so I want to try and give some advice. Maybe even create some good karma and get some answers to my posting. I just responded to a lamp posting and your item looks like it possibly came from the same outlet/source, ironic? Not sure what your item is but seems to lead me to a vase? Kind of odd for a mug, either way, we are looking for clues? As much visibility, up, down, under photo’s will add to the profile of your new love. You might have enough clues in this one picture though? Like the other ladies lamp photo you can see little to very little age signs. I want to see a zany array of fine lines in the surface along with some wearing of the paint from handling over the years, maybe even some dark spotting in the recessed areas where dust might have gathered? Looking again at your photo, I am really stressing my eyes to see any sight of aging. Thats what you want to here when your getting your old coin appraised, darn it! Other than the well depicted artwork that gives an early Asian look to your piece, thats all that can be seen. Scrutinize the table top side for any type of a signature clue? My guess is probably no? And the small crack will only add to the sad news. It looks fairly unique, unique is cool and you grabbed it. I am with you, I grab those items also when I can, ‘good character,’ items I call them. Your daughter’s daughter will see an aged character sporting some real swagger, possibly? Be nice to here if you have discovered any new info?twice,

ParticipantHey AY, just to give you a response if your still seeking info? The lamp could be that age, but it is so clean looking it must have been in it’s original box and stored until your photo. Patina, a fine grain in the viewing surface of the body, sorry if you and probably did already know that. Next you should add a photo of the lamp socket, cord, and plug. Clues that will help determine a more precise decade. If it has the plastic tag on the cord with electricity warning statement then it would be fairly late model 90’s & up. If it was sold as maybe a Hallmark item then that would be somewhere noticeable? So that leaves you with the new age ‘Jewel Tea Man’ type sales publications received in the mail. My guess would be that type of item. It is very nice looking, the right person might pay $100 but sadly $25 to $40 would be your offers. I hope I am wrong. If you could keep it looking that good for a bout 40 years then it will start attracting dollar signs. I love lamps and have many, they age about equally as humans, your cutie looks about 10. Let me know, if you find or have found, better news.
