    Hello,

Was wondering if anyone here might know the age & approximate value of this lighter. I did some checking online and found a couple similar lighters which are referred to as “trench art”, I assume made by soldiers during wartime. Is this from WW1 era? Anyone know what would be a reasonable asking price for this piece? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

    Hi,
This does date back to WW1 and a lot of the solders would engrave their names, the names of the one left back home and the date it was made. On average the lighters with no writing or engraved detail bring between $25 to $35 but I have seen some sell for as little as $8. If you do decide to sell at auction specify a minimum bet.
    Thanks,
