I have a Shell Oil Petroles Jupiter swing arm lighter. I had it on eBay for very cheap. A bidder told me it was rare.. probably made in 1910-20. Has Paris address on the bottom. I hope you can read Ste Ame Rue de Washington, Paris. Petroles Jupiter. I’d appreciate an appraisal & advice. Thank you very much, Barbara Fink

The lift arm style lighter was introduced in the late 1920s. I think your lighter was probably given to an employee of the shell oil company during that period. I would estimate it to be worth between $10-100 dollars. This is only similar one I could find in our archvive:

Condition is very important with antiques. Your lighter is in pretty poor condition (well used condition) and this fact would take away from its value.
