ParticipantHello,
I have an antique table that I could really use an appraisal on. I can not get a make or year or price on this table no matter how long I research it. I have what looks to be a 19th century Mahogony rose Harpe Lyre wide box Tressel table (library style) dining tableand4 matching chairs. It highly resembles Duncan Phyfe. There are no markings on the table anywhere. Possibly renaissance revival or Victorian. It has French flair as well as queen Anne as well. Please help me with determining what this piece is when it’s from and a price please. I need some expert advice.April 10, 2024 at 10:09 pm#33194Becky Jones Ohde
ModeratorHi,
I have searched multiply auction sites and can not find your mahogany harp lyre trestle table. At auction tables and chairs similar sold from $150 to $300. Duncan Phyfe rarely added any labels or marks to his furniture. The below link may help you:Duncan Phyfe Furniture: History, Characteristics, & Restorations
