    Hello
I recently acquired some padlocks that are still in their original boxes, never been used and the boxes appear to be vintage looking. I have unfortunately been unsuccessful in locating any information about them though. In addition to the photos that I will be attaching below, the following are all of the details that I have to provide about these specific padlocks:

    1 – GUARDDOG Brand
    2 – Security style/model
    3 – Made in China
    4 – Item No. 20310
    5 – Size = 65mm
    6 – Steel Ball Padlock
    7 – Hardened
    8 – Solid Steel Case
    9 – Hardened steel shackle & balls
    10 – Superior chrome plating
11 – Lock both shackle legs
    12 – Rekeyable & removable cylinder
13 – Packaging = Each individually boxed padlock is wrapped within an individual plastic bag with 3 keys on a key ring that are individually wrapped in their own plastic bag
14 – Each of the 3 keys that come in the box with each padlock have “DOG” written on 1 side of them and “DOG” written on the other side of them but the other side also has “MADE IN CHINA” written along the top (above the word “DOG”). The words are written in raised (not raised significantly but definitely raised nonetheless) lettering.
15 – Each padlock has “GUARD DOG” written (not with the words “GUARDDOG” together [as if to purposely merge the 2 words into 1], as they are written on the box, but with the word “Guard” followed by the word “DOG” directly underneath of it) on one side of it and “HARDENED” written on it’s other side. These words written on each padlock are inscribed/etched in vs. being raised letters like the keys have.
16 – Each padlock’s cardboard box that it (and the 3 keys) is contained in measures 5″ tall x 2 5/8″ wide x 1″ deep. Please reference the attached photos displaying the padlock next to a tape measure for each individual padlock’s measurements.

Although I am interested and inquiring about the value of this padlock, I am also desperately seeking any information available regarding this padlock? So, even if you may not have an appraisal to offer but you do have some knowledge to share, I would greatly appreciate your knowledge/information about this padlock as well!!!

    With my sincerest thanks,

    Gregory Crowley

Unfortunately, the 3 photos were all the allowable size would let me post! I’m going to try and attach 3 more in this reply to my own post (haha) but if anybody needs additional photos please let me know and I will be happy to send them to you!

    Thanks,

    Hi Gregory,

Your chinese made padlocks are not old enough to be collectible, of course, someone could still use them for their intended purpose. I would estimate their value in the $5-10 dollar range each:

I don’t have any information about these padlocks. My guess is they were made in the 1970s or 1980s.
