This chair is from my great grandmother’s house. She was married in 1920, so I assume it is from around then. I believe it is bergere style. It is in desperate need of reupholstery. My question is – is this worth keeping and reupholstering (which I know will cost a small fortune in itself). I have an offer for $150 for it – and I’m not sure if there is any resale value in antique chairs these days. When my great aunt died in ’99 it was appraised at $750 – but the fabric was in much better condition (the wood structure is still in excellent condition).

    Hi Kaleigh,
I have seen this style sell for anywhere from $100 to $700. You should verify what type of wood it is made of and any other information you can find out about where it came from. If it is from the 1920’s it is worth much more than $150.
    Hope this helps,
