ParticipantCould anyone tell me whether the attached is a true Bauer Los Angeles mark? I purchased this console type bowl but am not able to find anything close to it in my research. If it is a real Bauer, any idea of it’s age and value? Thank you so much!

Tim ManasterskiKeymasterI believe its a legitimate Bauer pottery markers mark. As far as age, that’s a little tougher. The original company started in 1885 in Kentucky, but was moved in 1910 to Los Angeles. The original company produced pottery from 1910 until its closure in March of 1962. The company reopened with new owners in 1998 and still make pottery to this day:

So, your Bauer console type bowl is either from the 1910-1962 timeline or the more modern 1998-present production. I think the newer pottery is marked “Bauer Pottery 2000”. With that in mind, I think your piece was made between 1910 and 1962. In my opinion, your Bauer bowl is worth between $10-30 dollars.
