ParticipantMy and Uncle were missionaries in India and in the 1980s brought home a dagger that looks Asian has a dragon at the but he informing the end of the handle with its tongue as a knuckle guard it has a very prominently curved blade with two curves appears to be brass on the handle and I guess iron blade.

ModeratorHi Josh,
I did receive your message through Facebook. I know of 6 Yali daggers that have sold at auction. I can’t determine the century by looking at a picture. You would need to speak to a expert. I know of one that is very similar to yours if not exact. The picture you sent is not a clear one. It was listed as a 19th century dagger and sold for $510 in 2014. The asking price on eBay is generally much higher than what the item actually sells for or either the person decides not to sell because they can not get the asking price.
I hope this helps,April 30, 2017 at 3:46 am#2294Josh West
ParticipantThank you very much, I just think its older than 19th century, and would like to talk to an expert but don’t no where to start. I’ve had it since I was 4or5 yrs old, he also brought bk a hand written copy of Koran, was very smart and had great eye! I’m hoping it’s much earlier. Thanks again n if u cud point towards someone who would help pkz let me know.
