ParticipantThis was my grandma’s chair. I’m not sure what type of chair this is…. victorian, chippendale, french….etc? I’ve looked for hours at different style chairs and I belive it’s maybe victorian but I’m have a really hard time finding it. It has MOP flowers and doves I believe on the back splat. Can anyone help with the era date and what type of chair this is. This is a very short chair as well.

KeymasterI believe your grandmother’s chair is hand made. I think its worth between $150 and dollars $200 dollars, but you might be able to get more.
I’m not sure on the style either, but it’s a beautiful chair. My guess in era would be the 1920’s, but its a complete guess.

ParticipantAntique/Primitive Chairs – I have four vintage chairs that were purchased in Mifflintown, PA at a farm auction in the 1950’s. They look to be made sometime between 1890 and turn of the century and do not appear to be machine made. Two are unfinished and two have a varnish or finish coat on them. A friend suggested the chairs are called “primitives” referring to handmade items etc but I have no idea. Anyone have thoughts or can offer information? I am looking to sell them and would like to know their value as well. Thank you for your help.
