Paper front clocks originated in the 1700’s, Ansonia Clock company was form in 1850 until 1929 when it sold all of its assets. These labels were used during the periods from 1883 to 1929. In 1914 they began to ship worldwide, with the clock-smiths label for New Zealand puts us in that time period. The brass is engraved and the trade mark is on the back, clock-smith label inside and the wood & designs are what ansonia used. Not to mention Other materials. Some of these parts were used on many of the Ansonia clocks porcelain Iron wood. on the Griffith & many mantel or shelf clocks. They were still using the wired bell gongs & they did not have all the brass wheels yet.
