PLEASE HELP"This light/dark brown treacle glazed loving cup, issued in 1941, has handles formed by the 5 1/2 inch tall, nicely modelled figures of Roosevelt and Churchill. The body of the cup represents a globe of the world and a stream of ships and aircraft, picked out in silver mirror glaze, can be seen crossing the Atlantic from west to east. A bit of artist's license, all in the cause of a balanced design of course, has the British Isles the same length as North America from Labrador to Florida! Around the base is the inscription, "Let's drink to victory, Let's drink to peace." Submit your estimate of worth |
