PLEASE HELP

I have a relief carved teak jewelry box that was brought back from Amoy, China in 1902 by a relative who was the Vice Consul there at the time. It has remained in my family ever since. It is lined with red velvet, and has a lift-out tray, also lined in red velvet. There is some Chinese writing on the outer box it came in, and also some writing on the bottom of the box itself. I have had no luck translating the writing. The dimensions are 4 3/4" x 5" x 8 3/4". It is in good condition, there is some wear and tear.
