PLEASE HELP

I bought this "knife/dagger" at a flea market. I was looking for anyone that might have information on it. The blade is about 7" and the OA length is about 10". On one side the blade is engraved with Mexican scrolling and the words "Hecho en" (made in). The other side is engraved with Mexican scrolling and the name "Carolina"(Caroline) and the worde "Mexico". The handle is made of brass with what appears to be either bone or ivory. The in lays are a little ill fitting so it appears to be handmade. The pictures aren't very good, but you can an idea of the knife. Any information anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
