ParticipantHello all! My husband and I bought a home that came with a wood-burning cast iron stove. It appears to be an antique but we’d love to know for sure (it could possibly be a reproduction). There are few markings on the stove other than the branding “Colonial JR Empress” on the front and “18 X” on the back right of the cooktop. Does anyone have any idea if this is antique or reproduction? And what the value might be? (It’s in excellent shape, other than needing a bit of silver polish!) Thanks!
*It’s 40″ wide, 27″ deep and about 60″ tall (not including vent)- This topic was modified 8 years ago by

ModeratorHi Allison,
I believe your Colonial JR Empress mystery stove is mid 20th century. I would estimate it to be worth between $400 to $500 because it is no great shape. Below are a couple that have sold in past auctions.
