ParticipantI am interested in knowing more about this knife and what it’s worth. The very tip was bent over initially and I tried to bend it back with pliers but it broke off 🙁 Also as you can see, there are initials inscribed on blade.

Tim ManasterskiKeymasterWell, it certainly looks old, maybe it’s civil war era. Do you have an provenance? Why do you think its from the civil war era? I believe it was probably handmade or made by a blacksmith. The bent tip would a condition issue and lower the price point and the initials are just hand engraved, so they don’t help identify the knife.
Civil war era knives range in value from $100-900 dollars:

With the condition issue and the lack of provenance, I would estimate the value of your civil war era knife in the $150-400 dollar range.
