Fantastic walnut swivel office chair


Fantastic walnut Victorian swivel office chair. It has a veryhigh back with burl and gold incised decoration. It was originally canedbut we had it reupholstered in leather. The arms are beautifully curved.This chair is attributed to Heywood Wakefield Company, Gardner, MA. Theyare mostly known for their wicker furniture but did create an exceptionallyfine line of office chairs. This chair originally tilted back but we had toalter the mechanism so that it revolves but doesnt tilt. Important Pottier & Stymus Gents Chair


Important Renaissance Revival rosewood Victorian gents chairattributed to Pottier and Stymus. The chair is decorated with opencarvings, incised carvings with original gilt, highly figured panels,fluting on the skirt and animal heads on the sides. The front legs end inclaw feet. This chair came out of the Union Hotel of Saratoga, New York.Pottier and Stymus made most of the furnishings for the hotel. The fabricwas put on by a previous owner. We did some minor restoration to the base.This chair is very heavy and well made - as you would expect from solidrosewood. High Style Rosewood Armchair


Superb quality and style Renaissance Revival rosewoodVictorian armchair. There is a brass rosette attached to the top of eachside. The entire chair is decorated with original gilt incised carvings andfluting. Applied carvings, including grapes, are on each arm. The originalold fabric on this chair was all frayed so we had it removed and the chairstructurally tightened to be all ready to reupholster. We have a bag withall the old fabric and springs that will go with the chair if requested. Webelieve this chair was made by Pottier and Stymus, NYC but we cant make afirm attribution. High Back Walnut and Cane Office Chair


Fine quality walnut Victorian high back office chair. This chair is decorated with a burled panel on top, carved rosettes, incised carvings and applied turnings. The shaped back and seat were hand caned by the previous owner. The caning is in great shape. The chair tilts back and swivels allowing the height to be adjusted. With the arched tilting back this is a very comfortable office chair. Eight American Hepplewhtie style wheat carved dining chairs


Eight American Hepplewhite style wheat carved dining chairs c1880 to1900. A true set of eight hand made solid matched mahogany Federal style dining room chairs, consisting of two arm and six side chairs. Strong, comfortable and in pristine condition. This set is unsigned but the quality of Margolis, Nutting or Fineburg. The arm chairs each measure 38 and three quarter inches high, 18 and three quarter inches to the top of their upholstered seats,22 inches wide and 18 inches deep. The side chairs each measure 37 and three quarter inches high by 17 inches deep, 20 inches wide and 18 and three quarter inches to the top of their seats. Shipping extra. A matched pair of important walnut Victorian chairs signed"Hunzinger NY Pat. March 30, 1869." The same chair is shown on page 99 inStyles of American Furniture 1860-1960 by Eileen and Richard Dubrow. Thesechairs have elaborate spindles and buttons in the frames. They also haveretained the original black highlights in some of the recessed portions.They were recently reupholstered by a previous owner. Matched pair of laminated rococo rosewood Victorian sidechairs made in NYC. They feature open carved backs with a rose in the topcrest and a cluster of grapes and leaves in the middle. The nearlyidentical chair is shown on page 94 of "American Furniture of the 19thCentury" by Eileen and Richard Dubrow. There are several small splits in the outer layersof the laminations - very typical in chairs of this type. The fabricon the seats is old.
