Teddy Bear North American Bear Co, ALOYSIUS, no 4011 Aloysius # 4011 from Bridgehead Revisited 1981 North American Bear CO stands 16 inches tall and sport a plaid ribbon and a hair brush. The arms and legs are jointed. The nose is hand stitched and the eyes are black glass. It has the original paper tag around its neck. Aloysius is Lord Sebastian Flytes teddy bear in Evelyn Waughs novel Brideshead Revisited (1945).The model for Aloysius was Archibald Ormsby-Gore, the beloved teddy bear of John Betjeman, Evelyn Waughs friend at Oxford.Aloysius, and in particular his representation in the acclaimed television adaptation of the novel (1981), is credited with having triggered the late-twentieth-century teddy bear renaissance
