Do you own antiques or collectibles but have no idea of their worth?

It can be very expensive to find out the value of your antiques. Why not use the internet to find out more information about your antiques and collectibles, or even post the item for sale and find potential buyers of your antiques (all for free!).

Click here for a free antique appraisal. Submit a description and a photo of your antique and find collectors willing to help out by estimating their worth.

Are you a dedicated antique collector? Help out fellow antique collectors by submitting your estimate of the below antiques. AntiquesNavigator offers this service completely free of charge, but other than antique padlocks we are not experts on all antiques and collectibles. If you own an extremely rare antique that belongs in the Smithsonian, you're probably better off putting the antique up for auction with Sotherby! However, if you have more commons antiques and collectibles and are curious to their worth, then we can help! AntiquesNavigator does not guarantee the accuracy of the free appraisal, so it might be a good idea to wait until you get at least a couple of responses from our readers before deciding the value of your antique or collectible.

Thank you for visiting and we hope this free appraisal service helps you!

Baily Banks and Biddle Fruit Knives

Submitted by: Madge
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

I have a set of 12 fruit knives that were made for and sold by Bailey Banks and Biddle of Philadelphia. They have Mother of Pearl Handles, the bolster is stamped STERLING, each measures 6 1/2" and the blade is approx. 3 1/4". I can't find any markings on the blades so I don't know if they are sterling, steel or silver plate but some of them show some slight bluish discoloration and fingerprints. They show very little use and no sharpening. The original case is in excellent condition. There is a swivel clover shape clasp. Each leaf of the clover has a "B" on it. This set has been in my family for years but I am not sure if it was my grandmother's or great grandmother's. Could you tell me when this set was sold by B,B & B. What the blades are made of and approx value. Thank you.

Rosenthal Malmaison plate portrait

Submitted by: Sally
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

I have no information about antique. I browse the yard sales. Beautiful antique ROSENTHAL MALMAISON porcelain BAVARIA plate or cabinet plate featuring hand painted portrait of girl and tendrils of purple violets on a white background. (c. 1898-1906) This porcelain plate bowl is marked on the back Philip Rosenthal & Co. Malmaison Bavaria. The deeply scalloped edge is trimmed in violet and has metallic gold dot. Each purple violet has a yellow center, and they are set against a deep and lush green leaf foliage. This fine Bavarian porcelain plate is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing noted. Light wear to the gold metallic trim. Marked on the bottom with a "crown", "crossed swords" with the initials R. and C., MALMAISON and BAVARIA in green ink. This lovely plate measures 10" in diameter with scalloped edge. Phillip Rosenthal started the Rosenthal China Company in 1884. The business began in Selb, Bavaria (Germany) and quickly expanded to other villages. Phillip Rosenthal built his company by buying white porcelain from another company called Hutschenreuther. He then designed his pieces based on patterns developed by his wife, Maria. During the 1890s and early 1900s, the Rosenthal China Co. acquired numerous factories throughout Germany. Rosenthal pieces are very distinguished. At once inimitable and intuitive, the designs are ageless. Despite marketplace pressures to speed up production and mass-produce some of the more popular Rosenthal pieces, the company has held fast to its ideals of quality and "better form."

Submitted is one 13" plaque, made out of iron, but coated with a bronze type paint. It has a profile of Otto Bismark on it, as well as his coat of arms at the top, which is fixed onto the plaque with a slotted screw. On the bottom is a small enamailed swastika, which appears to be attached by JB weld or some other type of chemical. On the back there is a deeply engraved date "1941". It is reputed to be a memorial plaque, given to the survivors of the sinking of the Bismark battleship in 1941, but I have not been able to find any references to this item on the internet. The foundry mark is ST.W , and it has a Stag symbol in a shield

Antique HandMade Italian Pottery Pitcher - 12-Inches Tall

Submitted by: Debbie
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

Antique Hand Made Pottery Pitcher Approx. 12" Tall It was hand made in Italy, it is a wheel thrown pottery piece. The grooves on the pitcher are made by using a potters stick to drag through the clay, which creates the wood rustic look. It is very similar to Norleans Pottery, and it is mid 20th Century. A Mano on it means "Hand Made" the word Mano is used to indicate handmade. So this is a great hand made piece from Italy around the 50's maybe 40's. The bottom says "A Nano" and "Made in Italy" on the bottom. It is in excellent/mint condition!!
