Do you own antiques or collectibles but have no idea of their worth?

It can be very expensive to find out the value of your antiques. Why not use the internet to find out more information about your antiques and collectibles, or even post the item for sale and find potential buyers of your antiques (all for free!).

Click here for a free antique appraisal. Submit a description and a photo of your antique and find collectors willing to help out by estimating their worth.

Are you a dedicated antique collector? Help out fellow antique collectors by submitting your estimate of the below antiques. AntiquesNavigator offers this service completely free of charge, but other than antique padlocks we are not experts on all antiques and collectibles. If you own an extremely rare antique that belongs in the Smithsonian, you're probably better off putting the antique up for auction with Sotherby! However, if you have more commons antiques and collectibles and are curious to their worth, then we can help! AntiquesNavigator does not guarantee the accuracy of the free appraisal, so it might be a good idea to wait until you get at least a couple of responses from our readers before deciding the value of your antique or collectible.

Thank you for visiting and we hope this free appraisal service helps you!

Drop Front Desk

Submitted by: Pamela

PLEASE HELP

Hi, I hope someone can help me identify this piece and provide a value. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time searching desk images online and looking at hundreds of sites for an identical match with no luck. It is very exciting though and I have found a couple that were very close in style. This desk was given to my mother in the early 70's by a little old lady she had befriended. I remember them referring to it as an antique then and that was about 40 years ago. I have looked at every inch of the desk 3 or 4 times with a flashlight. I can't find anything, writing, stamps, stickers, etc that would help in identifying the desk. It is in I would say very, very good condition. It was stripped of the varnish years ago and I believe there is only something to protect the wood on it. All of the hardware and wood is original. Other than some nails that need to be gently hammered a couple of times, there is nothing wrong with the desk. I really appreciate any information that anyone has. I can't wait to hear from someone. Thank you :-)

Vintage Bedroom Set

Submitted by: mike
Main Image

PLEASE HELP

I have recently purchased an antique/vintage bedroom set. I don't really know much about old furniture so if you have any clues as to who made it or anything I would love the info. The bedroom set had a full size headboard and footboard, vanity and chest of drawers. Photo is of the vanity. Here are my thoughts on the set. each piece has a stamp on the back that says M-1839 Wal. ( this tells me it was factory made, number is probably the model number, and the wood is walnut) All of the drawers are dove tailed and you can openly see the nails that were used in construction on the inside of the piece, there are no drawer guides, only 2 staples in the front as drawer stops. there are screws in the back that hold on the mirror and all screws are old and only flat head screws. all of the pieces are on wood casters. As for the front , from just looking at the picture it looks like it would be veneer inlay, however I believe this is actually a painted print, or a paper print to make it look expensive and the routered detail lines are painted with a yellow wash. I believe that from what I have read that this could be from the late 20s to 30s and would have been a depression era, possibly what they call "Borax furniture" which was at the time a very inexpensive furniture made to "look" expensive. I would welcome any thoughts on this.
