We were given this stove while helping someone clean out their barn. It's a cast iron coal or wood burning parlor stove and it is complete. I'm not positive, but I would say it's possibly from the early 1900's.

Pittston wood burning kitchen stove, cast steel with green and white enamel coating. Mostly complete, but not all parts are attached. Not sure of it's age, but I would guess 1800's- early 1900's. We found it in our barn when we purchased our house.

HI:
i have a pair of saltand pepper shakers.
They are glass with black plastic caps.
they are the HORNE design like the dominion glass pagoda cruet.
In fact the bottom section of the shakers are identical to the lower section of the pagoda cruet (speckled)- i think they would be an accomplement to the pagoda.
On the bottom of the shakers their is embossed print- HORNE Reg'd 1932
also their is the typical dominion glass trade mark, a small diamond with a "D".and each shaker has a number 4 and 5 adjacent to the diamond respectively.
total height is 3-5/8 inches.
The speckled area that surounds the lower portion is 8 sided(octaginal like the cruet has), that area is 1 1/2 inches of the lower section.from the area above the speckled area to the top the shakers they constrict to a round neck aprox. 3/4 of inch dia..

This is a figure mounted on a cross section of a tree branch with a Japanese character painted on it. The figure is made of fabric, stuffing and what appears to be stiff wire inside, and has a painted face. The figure is playing a violin and looks like it is supposed to be a gypsy or Italian figure, although the figure has a tag on it that indicates it was made in Japan.
The figure is about 5-6 inches tall. He is wearing a knit green cap with a white pompon, has black velvet pants and a printed tunic over a formal white shirt with a bead for a cufflink on each sleeve. The tunic has a fringe. The violin and bow are made of wood and the strings on the bow and violin seem to be made of single threads. The figure has a nose and ears that are glued to the face, although the rest of the face is painted. It has brown eyes and a brown fringe made of threads for hair sticking out from under the cap. He is barefoot.
He seems to be being held together with stitching and with glue. He is not poseable, but is posed as if playing his instrument.
There is a gold colored, printed and embossed tag around his neck that looks like a Japanese child holding a gold-colored disk, although you can only see the head, eyes, hands and feet of the child, as the rest (the gold disk) is part of the tag. The tag says something like "The Original Shibateh" although the stamp is blurry so the H's could be M's, N's or some combination. The bottom of the tag says "Handicrafted (sic) in Japan". There is also a stylized Japanese logo in the center of the tag that looks like Fi with the F trisected. The reverse side of the tag reads "This seal guarantees Top Quality and Workmanship Beware of Imitations!"
The bottom of the figure also has a gold embossed tag that is hard to read. It has the stylized Japanese logo on it, with a sentence in Japanese characters underneath. Below that is something that appears to say "FUTABA DOLLATELIER KOCHI". I think this item was purchased in the 1960's.
I tried to search online for information about this item but had no luck. Any info is greatly appreciated! ALSO: Any estimates of worth and where to sell it?

It's in excellent condition, I'm not sure of the age, but I do know that it is retired from Hummel. It is signed and is stamped on the bottom of the base and says it was made in Western Germany with the numbers 89/1 imprinted ot the bottom also. I also have a Bradley hubbard mirror from the 1800 or 1900's in excellent condition. I can send pictures of both.

I have recently acquired this beautiful German porcelain centerpiece. It is a pierced oval basket supported by a base of two cherub/putto seated on a rock out crop. The female has a woven basket of flowers on her lap. The piece is hand painted and gilded.
The total Height is 12 3/4". The condition is as follows; a wing is missing from one putti, very small chips on a few of the outer flowers, and a repair on the base about the size of a dime, otherwise the piece is in good shape. The mark is a blue cross sword with a dot between the handles. There is an incised mark on the base 7533. The basket also has an incised mark but it is not as clear and I believe it might be JSG.373 or JSC.313. Any information on this piece would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have an old antique metal rocking baby cradle and would like to have an idea as to what it is worth if anything. Very sturdy with cast iron scrolled footings. The rocking basket is made of a heavy-duty wire in a very nice lattice design. Same Lattice design in on the bottom attached to the legs. There is a metal pole attached which was used for either a mobile or netting to protect baby. The top of the cradle basket measures 37 3/4" length, 20" width, 14 1/2 " depth. It tapers slightly to the bottom of the basket to 33 3/4" length, 16 1/2" width. From floor to top of mobile pole measures 53 1/2 " and the total width from footing to footing is 40".
Thanks kindly,
Anne Neufeld

I started right in garage-saleing on Saturday mornings, and made nearly $300 NET PROFIT in the first month! Not bad for a new ebay hobby! I couldn't have done it without this book. I have a set of figurines, both separate; a little boy wearing a green hat and a little girl with braids. Both are barefoot and eyes closed, each with a cat, leaning toward each other for a kiss. The kitten with the boy is stretched toward the kitten with the girl like it is leaning in for a kiss as well. The boy is holding a bouquet of flowers behind his back. The girl is clasping her hands.
The pair was given to me in the 1980s and I was told they were Hummels. While they appear to have similarities to Hummel figurines such as coloring, the boy's hat and general material (not glossy)After much research, I don't believe they are Hummels but would like to know if anyone can identify them. They are marked on the bottom with 176, an R under a design of sorts and an N in a square. They also say genuine porcelain decorated by hand

Hi Diane,
Unfortunately, there's not a real big market for antique or vintage ice crushers. The patent was issued in 1944, but it appears to be a appliance from the 1950's. Here's the first page of the patent:
Your ice-o-matic is worth $20-30 dollars and that might be in the upper range of its value.

I've purchased searevl books on Amazon.com and while a lot of them were very good, I've never felt compelled to write a review. Then I purchased and read How to Sell Antiques and Collectibles on eBay And Make a Fortune! by Lynn Dralle and Dennis Prince. This book is FANTASTIC!!! I had started an eBay business from home a few months before buying the book and was filled with questions this book answered them all! It covers everything from how to set up your home office to choosing a business name & business plan to how much to spend at Garage Sales, etc. It is filled with amazing tips and tricks (for instance, Lynn gives you a website that helps you identify almost any china pattern which is invaluable when researching your item to post on ebay). Not only is the book overwhelmingly thorough, but Ms. Dralle also includes her email address just in case you have further questions. You're probably wondering if she would actually respond to your emails and the answer is, YES! I was having a problem with one of my customers and I wasn't quite sure how to handle it, so after much deliberation I decided to email Lynn. In less than 24 hours I received a response to my email with some very good advice which I promptly followed. I can honestly say that her advice was right on target! It worked perfectly and the customer gave me excellent feedback! So in short, if you are considering selling antiques and collectibles on eBay, this book is a must-have!!!

Wow, if your jade statues are really mayan, that's a fantastic find and they really belong in a museum! I would place a value of $1000-2000 each on your mayan statues, but really the sky is the limit. It's all about finding the right buyer who would appreciate them enough to pay top dollar.

items are: tabletop lighter/ smoking set and small rococco`style trinket box (Gold colored, lined red velvet. picture of maddona and child.) Under the box is a small brand that is similar to that of an Italian ship (Galleon) I found nothing. then came a customer with the same makers mark, only more pronounced when it was engraved in the metal. a smoking set, with a table dish, cigarette case and lighter (flint and petrol) But in the background of the picture, we discovered yet another symbol. It looks like a house photographed from above. The letter Y is written on the roof.
Material used for these things had the same rough shape, lumpy, wavy.
Is there anything you can tell me about these makers marks?
best regards

I have a piece of framed art work signed by artist Giulio Rosati. Just below his signature, in very small letters that require a magnifying glass to see, are the words "copyright F. H. Bresler & Co. 1902. It is in the original frame. The piece itself (minus the frame) is 18.25" wide x 22.75" tall. the frame has some chips out of it and it ( the frame) is very fragile. It is obviously a signed print. Frank Bresler, my research reveals, was a Milwaukee art dealer at the turn of the century who, in 1900 invented a new way to produce lithographs. I have reason to believ the artist G. Rosati an Orientalist did indeed sign the piece. He lived from around 1858 to 1917 I believe. I cant find price value for prints by Rosati, except modern day ones. I have pictures but dont see a way to upload them to you. K N D

I am a curator from Sotherbys auction house. Without a picture of the artwork and the frame it's difficult to say with any confidence. But if you are accurate in what you describe, any work from the turn of the century (1900-1909) from F.H Bresler & co is quite valuable. Frank Breslar founded F. H Breslar & co.in Milwaukee WI. and in 1900 he invented a new method for lithographs. He traveled to Europe quite often and he would buy masterpieces and then use his new method to print a few copies and have the artist sign the pieces. You describe just such a piece. Very rare indeed. If your's is indeed dated 1902 you have a treasured piece. Giulio Rosati was a master Orientalist from Italy. He lived from 1858-1917 like you mentioned. Mr. Breslar did have some lithos signed by this artist. Without seeing the work it's hard to say, but again, if your description is accurate, in that it states "copyright F. H. Breslar & co. 1902", under the artist signature, you have an original artist signed litho worth between $3500-$6500, maybe more at the right auction. By the way, the original is valued at $40,000. Established by a recent sale at Sotherbys in London. Congrats! Ms. Valerie Botticili

HI. I'm in the process of cleaning my mother's house; the house used to belong to my grandmother. Mom gave me a figurine that conveyed with the house in Grandma's glass display cabinet. It is literally a White Elephant, holding a bowl, with a girl holding a pitcher. It seems to be an anglican idea of an Indian scene, as the girl is white, and her face is plump, like a Gibson Girl. She is wearing a purple/white striped turban, and the figurine is embellished with copper or gold metallic paint, on the jewelry, skirt, tassels. There is a baby blue blanket on the elephant which matches blue flowers on the carrier basket on the top. The whole thing is approx. 9 inches tall, 10 in. wide. No sign of scratches. No glaze. There is a logo on the back hind leg that I can't make out, and the number 10043.
