PLEASE HELP



This little lamp belonged to my Grandfather who passed away in April 1952. I was told that it sat on his desk for many years. I haven't been able to identify its' maker or value (if any). There are no chips or cracks. It has a very old electrical cord that I believe is the original. The last time I plugged it in, it worked. The base is made of some sort of metal and is heavy. Any help or thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!

I estimate that your grandfather's lamp is worth around $20-40 dollars.  It sounds like the base is made of cast iron and appears to be painted.  Here's a similar lamp that sold for $10 dollars:
