PLEASE HELP

I CAME ACROSS THIS PAINTING THAT APPEARS TO BE OLD BECAUSE OF THE CRACKLED VARNISHED TEXTURE. I BELIEVE IT IS AN OIL PAINTING ON A BOARD SUPPORT IN A REDDISH COLORED WOOD FRAME. IT HAS A NAME TAG WITH THE ARTIST'S NAME ON THE FRONT. THE DIMENSIONS OF THE PICTURE ONLY ARE 22CM WIDE BY 19CM HIGH. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF THIS COULD BE AN ORIGINAL NICHOLAES MAES «THE MILKMAID» ART PIECE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

If your painting is an original Nicolaes Maes painting, it belongs in a museum and is priceless.

You need to have the painting authenticated, but since Nicolaes Maes was a pupil of Rembrandt and any painting on him would be very valuable.  An internet appraisal is probably not the best place to get your painting authenticated and valued.

Good luck and thanks for sharing.
