PLEASE HELP

These figures, 8 individuals + 2 mystery balls & stands, 2 pagotas & animal were purchased in Japan during the occupation after WWII and by the looks are a set, all of the bases are the same. believe mom may have painted them black. there are no identification markings on any surface, my rudimentary knowledge of Ivory leads me to think it is mammoth (schrager lines visible in the base of the mystery ball stand)certainly not made of bone (no little back pits), the surface is polished. I have not been able to identify any of the figures. the pagota pieces are missing a few miniatures, 2 trees on the larger and 3 figures on the smaller one. the animal a lamb, rat ?? any ideas about value, origin and what if any significance to all of the pieces being a grouped together. thanks much.
