PLEASE HELP

this meriden b company box that i am trying to find out what it is, is about 6 inches wide, long and tall with four round ball feet, and a lid that opens up that also has a women engraved with a hat on her head. The box also has floral designs engraved into the sides of it. the big catch to this part that i cannot figure out is it has this removable canister that sets down inside the box, it ahs two square plates, one on the top and one on the bottem connected by metal rods allowing you to turn the nob to make them closer together or further apart. the top plate has larger holes than the bottem holes for some reason. any help would be great thanks!
