PLEASE HELP

I have a gold locket bought from Fredk D. Meller Ltd Fine Jewellery in London W1 85 New Bond St. The locket was handed down by my grandmother and I suspect it is quite old, maybe antique. The locket is quite heavy for its size (approx size of a ladies thumbnail) and I suspect it is in the higher karat (no stamp) because of the colour and weight. Locket is in very good condition, has a star engraved on the front and a small emerald (again its old so it could be a diamond) but very small in the middle of the star. the only stamp is on the chain and its says GOREL GF or COREL CF not sure.
